Steve Kind’s alcohol use started in high school and progressed to a real problem over the years. After several attempts at treatment programs, he met a counselor who knew about SMART and suggested he look into the program. It was like a lightning bolt that propelled him to success over his addiction. He now facilitates meetings and is helping others live their Life Beyond Addiction.

Hi . My name is alireza . I’m from Iran and here I only got your handbook . No meetings in my area and just attending online meetings in zoom . The problem is I’m alone and have no anyone else to work the tools . Maybe I just don’t know the way of smart recovery . Should I just attending to online meetings and use the tools by myself ? Please explain completely to me the way of SMART and using the tools because I just leave the AA and I want to start SMART
Hello Alireza, thanks for reaching out. It’s great that you are attending online meetings, and we encourage you to continue doing so. That is a great way to learn about the program, meet others, and observe how SMART tools, like those in the handbook, are being used in real life. It is a process that can take some time, the important thing is to be consistent and persistent. Attending online meetings will keep you connected to others who are using SMART tools as well. Thank you for being a part of SMART!
