Dr. Bill Knaus, Ed.D., psychologist and renowned authority in the field of overcoming procrastination, will join SMART Recovery® Online to present an Anti-Procrastination Workshop Series during the month of July. The workshop is an adaptation of his highly successful face-to-face workshops and will last for five weeks. The format of the workshops will follow a concept/application presentation, beginning with a Main Event, followed by three Q&A Sessions, and a final Booster Session to provide an overview and ways forward to end procrastination.

Dr. Knaus is a premier expert in the field of helping people overcome procrastination. He originated the self-help movement for overcoming procrastination and has worked with thousands of people in his individual private practice and in his transformational anti-procrastination workshops. Over 1 million people have benefited from reading his bestselling books on procrastination. An original director of post-graduate training in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Dr. Knaus has directly helped train over 1,000 professional counselors and psychotherapists. He originated Rational Emotive Education, an evidence-based positive mental health program for kids and teens. He is known by many in SMART Recovery as the author of The SMART Recovery Primer, a manual that helped launch the program.

This former professor has authored more than 20 books, including several on the subject of procrastination. His latest, End Procrastination Now (McGraw-Hill, 2010), is his fifth and most up-to-date book on how the topic. His earlier work, The Procrastination Workbook: Your Personalized Program for Breaking Free from the Patterns That Hold You Back (New Harbinger, 2002), came from his group-work with people suffering from hardcore procrastination.

The Workshop Schedule:

July 1 – Procrastination Mini-Workshop Main Event, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. EDT
July 8 – Q&A, 20 minutes, 7:00 p.m. EDT
July 15 – Q&A, 20 minutes, 7:00 p.m. EDT
July 22 – Q&A, 20 minutes, 7:00 p.m. EDT
July 29 – Booster Session – Review and moving forward, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. EDT

The workshops will be held in the SMART online meeting venue. To gain access to the workshops, register for SMART Recovery Online. Please register at least 24 hours in advance. Once registered, access the SMART Recovery Message Board through the menus on the SMART Recovery website . Select “Online Activities/SMART Message Board,” and once logged in, select “SMART Recovery Chat and Meeting Rooms” from the drop-down bar near the top left of the page. The Workshop will be held in “The SMART Room”. (Note: A microphone is not required to participate, sound and keyboard are required.)

These workshops will be recorded, and attendance and participation indicate consent to SMART’s public use of the audio material.
