SMART Recovery Annual Conference 2018Join us in Tempe for the exciting opportunity to learn from our keynote speaker, Robert Meyers, as he explains how Concerned Significant Others can support a Loved One with an addiction using CRAFT model (Community Reinforcement Approach and Family Training), a significant component of SMART’s Family & Friends program.

This year’s conference agenda also includes an interesting talk on Ancient Brains, Modern Minds: causes and conditions of addiction and paths to recovery, a presentation on the Face-to-Face Facilitator Training Project in Rehab, local presenters share their journey, DISARM tool presentation, SMART’s Alumni Committee shares information, Mindfulness instruction, and Recovery Community as shared by the Mocksville Police Department.

Additional presentations about SMART Recovery International, updates from our board president, and enjoy meeting our new executive director!

Breakout sessions to include: Volunteer/Facilitators, Corrections/Drug Courts/Criminal Justice, Addiction Professionals, and The SMART Organization. Each breakout will include multiple discussion topics. This year there is room to choose two breakouts sessions on your conference registration form!

Various opportunities for socializing and fun activities will be offered to take advantage of the location, including a field trip to the award-winning Heard Museum of Southwestern and Native American Art and Artifacts and a Friday evening scavenger hunt!

In addition, those desiring a more comprehensive tour of Arizona’s scenic wonders are invited to contact Regional Coordinator, Guy Lamunyon, about day trips to either the Grand Canyon or the Red Rocks of Sedona right after the event (please email Guy if interested at glamunyon@aol.com)
