The Road Traveled, the Journey Ahead

For the past five years each fall, SMART Recovery has enjoyed a gathering of volunteers, participants, and friends. These gatherings have provided many opportunities:

    • The opportunity to personally meet one another
    • The ability to network with one another
    • The chance to share successes and even failures
    • The occasion to help determine ways forward for the organization
    • The chance to feel part of an international community of people working together to help one another

The presentations throughout the weekend will range from a look back at the evolution of the organization to our current development and include many new initiatives on local, national and international levels. Examples of topics include: Growth and development of SMART Recovery online resources; Community relations; Current advancements in the field of addiction treatment; Outreach and Marketing techniques; Attracting and retaining new participants; New meeting formats and tools; Advanced strategies for Groups; and much more. There’s something here to interest everyone!

Friday

Arrive early and enjoy a walking tour (optional) of the downtown area where you'll see Chicago's Millenium Park as well as public art, architecture, and more in the Loop area.

Then meet us at the hotel at 7:00PM for dinner followed by recreational activities (play ping-pong or foosball, relax in the hot tub, or enjoy swimming in the heated indoor pool) where you'll have a fun opportunity to meet other SMART Recovery volunteers and participants.

Saturday

After optional activities, breakfast and registration, Saturday's sessions begin at 8:45AM. (Please see the agenda for details.) After lunch, the sessions continue, and the day wraps up with dinner and a fun game of SMART Jeopardy!

Sunday

Sunday begins with a Continental Breakfast at 8:00AM, and Sunday's sessions start at 9:00AM and continue until Noon.

Event Registration Package

Registration for the Annual Conference is $125 per person if you register prior to August 30th. (Registrations after August 30th are $150.) The fee includes all registration materials, Friday night dinner, Saturday continental breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Sunday's continental breakfast. Also included is complimentary transportation from Midway Airport (airport code MDW) to the hotel, or complimentary parking (if arriving by car.) Hotel room charges and Friday activities are separate from the event registration.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

A full refund will be issued for cancellations received 3 days prior to the program. Thereafter, refunds are unable to be issued. Substitutions may be made at any time.
